Wissahickon Valley Park
One of the largest parks in the city is less than a mile from our rental community. The 2,000-acre space features 50 miles of trails, making it popular with hikers, bikers, and runners. Climb up the famous wooded gorge to overlook the Wissahickon Creek or go on a scavenger hunt through the historic park to see all of its statues and monuments. You can join in on guided tours of the park for some hands-on education about all of the plants, trees, and wildlife that call the park home.
Schuylkill River Trail
Stroll past Main Street for one of the best spots for outdoor recreation near Manayunk. The paved path runs along the Manayunk Canal, making it a magnet for everything from workouts to dog walks. If you want a change of scenery from your normal gym routine, the beautiful views the trail provides make it a great space for a walk or run. If you’re feeling really ambitious, follow the trail all the way into Center City or north into the ’burbs to really get your heart pumping — and see the city and surrounding areas from a new angle!
Morris Arboretum
A short drive from Manayunk, Morris Arboretum is a perfect place to while away a day in nature, no matter the season! The historic arboretum features more than 13,000 plants from around the world, including many rare finds you won’t see anywhere else. Travel the paths to get a firsthand look at all of the colors and smells from the gardens and meadows, and then relax by the ponds and fountains. Morris Arboretum also hosts special events in all weather — from nature walks in the spring and summer to holiday light displays in the winter months —giving you opportunities for outdoor recreation near Manayunk any day of the year!
